Before joining the team of Barzanò & Zanardo in 2011, I worked for about 17 years in intellectual property departments of multinational companies in the fields of chemistry and pharmaceuticals.
My lengthy corporate experience enables me to immediately understand the needs of innovation-oriented companies and their interactions with their competitors, so that I can help them broaden their technological assets, by implementing the most suitable protection strategies.
I manage a large clientele, including both Italian SMEs and multinational companies, and work with their management to handle and develop their intellectual property portfolio. I also provide assistance in the negotiation of agreements with third parties and in IP litigation.
Along with patenting, which still constitutes a large part of my activities, I manage many opposition and appeal procedures before the EPO, and disputes in Italy as ex parte technical expert, both for Italian and foreign clients.
I have an extensive experience in many technical fields, particularly in: polymeric materials, catalysts, pharmaceuticals, organic synthesis processes, petrochemicals, industrial processes for the treatment of plastic or elastomeric materials, processes for the treatment of urban or industrial waste, production of biodegradable materials and their applications.
Currently, I am the manager responsible for the Milan-based team of professionals working in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
I am a qualified European Patent Attorney before the European Patent Office, a qualified attorney in industrial property before the Italian Patent and Trademark Office, and a qualified design attorney before the EUIPO. I obtained the qualification of European Patent Litigator before the UPC. I am a member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the EPO (epi), and a member of the Italian Board of Industrial Property Consultants and of FICPI.
Admitted to represent parties before the Unified Patent Court.
