COVID-19 UPDATE – IPTO Terms Suspended Until 3 April 2020 –

Due to work activity limitations following the spread of the COVID-19 in Italy, the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (IPTO) with Directorial Decree issued on March 11, 2020 has suspended the terms of all the proceedings under the jurisdiction of the IPTO.

Accordingly, all official terms before the IPTO expiring between March 9 and April 3, 2020 are suspended. At the end of this suspension period, the terms will run again for the remaining part.

Please note that this suspension period does not apply to time limits related to either deadlines for opposition proceedings to the registration of Italian trademarks or deadlines for appeal proceedings.

Notwithstanding the above, be assured that our offices are currently fully operational, ensuring the respect of all the original deadlines.
